-if it's like this one..

Yes, you'll likely need some form of correction for the peak in response, but it isn't a resonance (..the linear decay is clean).

The only real limitation technically is getting a good transition from "tweeter" (or mid) off-axis. Often larger waveguides are used for transitioning at lower (High) freq.s, with horizontal patterns more similar to the larger driver's upper freq. horizontal dispersion pattern.

Here is commercial design using a variation of this driver with their more typical mag. loaded poly cone:

Abbingdon Music Research - Product - LS - 77 Reference Class Monitor

It uses a waveguide loaded planar (..from SLS I believe). Thorsten could tell you more about it..

Currently I have a AT 10C as bass driver in my 3 way speakers. Its a VERY capable bass driver with good efficiency, fast and authoritative response. Its not great for mids. Although it outputs alot up in the midrange areas, it doesn´t sound good so I cut it sharply off around 150-200 Hz and up to avoid affecting the midrange.

The normal pp cone may perform better in the mids, but I would go for the 8" instead which also employs faraday rings for better midrange response.

domtweaker, what is your intended use for this driver?
-102mm VC is for more power capability but the increase in mm and LE means less frequency extension and lower SPL for the same magnet.

cheers,
