So im confused..
I am in the process of designing a crossover for the new speakers I just bought. I bought : Dayton Audio DC28f-8 1-1/8" Silk Dome Tweeter and HiVi M5a 5" Aluminum/Magnesium Midbass Woofer I was planning on the crossover point for these to be around 3500Khz. Could someone help me on how I would go about building a crossover at that point? This will be my first speaker build so this stuff is a little confusing at the moment. Also, how does one choose what order of crossover to use? Any and all help/advice welcome. Thanks, Tunks |

Because the Al cone has a peak at 5kHz, I'd consider crossing over lower, say 2KHz, the tweeter can handle this; for the same reason at least a 2nd order crossover - you may also need a notch filter at 5Khz to deal with the peak.
Here’s a design using the same woofer, no notch: http://ampslab.com/robin.htm Zaph has tested this one: http://www.zaphaudio.com/5.5test/
