Default 2-way Bookshelf modeling help

Hello everyone. I've modeled the Tang Band W5-704D 5-1/4" Woofer for use in a 2-way bookshelf system to be used with the Hivi SD1.1-A tweeter. For some reason when using WinISD I keep getting a box of .335Ft^3 and a 2" port 5.75" long (58hz). The box size seems off a bit. Can someone verify that this box size/ port size/length is optimum for this woofer in a 2-way bookshelf system? Or if I'm off a bit could someone please correct me? Thanks!

Another little tidbit of information: I'll be using a prebuilt Dayton crossover and an l-pad to correct the 3db difference between the woofer and tweeter.

Any help is appreciated.

prebuilt xover --> in that case the box size is the least of your problem.

I understand it may not be the best idea, but I don't have the know-how to build/design my own Xo's.. I found one that seems to suit both speakers nicely and went with it. I'd appreciate if I could get a response without criticizing my component selection.

Unibox gives an optimum size of 10L tuned to 57 Hz, so .335 cu ft is about right, why does it seem off to you?
I'd probably go with a slightly larger box tuned a bit lower, say 15 L @ ~ 48 Hz.

Port length depends on port diameter, the smaller the diameter, the shorter the port,

You may want to google your woofer + projects and see what's already out there.

Hi,

You don't know how to design a crossover but you know how to pick one ?

Clueless .... FWIW your selection is extremely poor and will not work well.

There are loads of options for the bass alignment using WinISD,
just ignore what is says and understand what you are doing.

Your drivers are reasonable choices, the crossovers a complete disaster.

Read the links below, you can do far better if you know what you are doing.
Zaphaudio has full tests etc of your drivers, no excuse not to do it properly.

Suggests to me 12L tuned to 40Hz would be good in the real world.

Default Dude-Build your plan!

You got some confirmation of what you looked at-so build it. Then, while listening to tunes look up the links and see some other ideas.
And most importantly: HAVE SOME FUN with what you built.

I did a google on your woofer and there seems to be a few well designed projects already out there. You might need to change up the tweeter circuit or the tweeter altogether. The XO is such a critical component and needs to be done well to have a good sounding system. I would steer away from an off the shelf XO, you will likely be disappointed with the results. There are so many people on this forum who are willing to help design an appropriate XO, that's been my experience. I am just now moving to the stage of designing my own but I still need help. You might snag someone on this thread that will do it for you or you could post another specifically asking for help with an XO design...that's what I have done and have built several speakers that turned out very nice with these guys help around here.

Either way, have fun....this won't be your last I bet....

Thanks for the advice everyone has given. I spoke with the guy who I originally got the idea of building this 2-way with and he is building me the crossovers specifically for these drivers so the miss-matched pre-built XO's are out of the question as of right now. Now onto the next thing. Pete recommended a 15L 48Hz tuned box. Sreten recommended a 12L, 40Hz tuned box. WinISD recommended a 9.5L 58Hz. Which should be best for my application?

Also, the gentleman said the crossover has a static l-pad worked into it, as well as requiring the tweeter to be wired out of phase. Does this sound correct or is he poking my eyes?
