I am looking for crossover point for a LPG 26AT with a LPG 51AT and possibly a recommended woofer. Have available a 8" Peerless paper cone woofer. Any help here please?

Graphs here : http://www.madisound.com/pdf/printcatalog/lpg.pdf,
mid needs to be crossed over above ~500Hz, the tweeter ~2Khz,

personally, I'd throw the mids & do a 2 way with a good woofer

Why would you dismiss the Mid and build a 2way? Would like to use these maybe another use?

They cover too narrow a band, ~ 2 octaves. Woofers nowadays are pretty good e.g. Seas, SB & will give qood quality sound with much less complication than a 3 way

I do agree with the narrow band, but I would like to use these up in some project soon. I have 2pr. of these, had them for going on 4 years. Just dragged them out of storage when I say a 26AT tweeter in the swapmeet!
Maybe you can suggest a use for the 51AT's!

Looking at the pdf PeteMcK posted the 51's look like they'd make a pretty reasonable tweeter straight up.

The tweeter is very good with me, it is the 2" metal dome midrange 51AT I wouls like a use for. Was hoping my project wouls spout some interest using the mid, but it looks as though there may be a better spot for them waiting!
Thanks!

I was talking about the mid. I prefer a slight rolloff at the top. It just 'looks' like it would sound reasonable on its own, a matter for experimentation.

Thanks Pete and Allen for your advice. However my stratergy to impliment the 51at is still or rather was my priority. I do agree in noting the bandwidth of the tweeter and matching it to a good mid-bass woofer may in fact be my best approach with the 26at in mind, but my focus remains with the 51at. With this advice I will seek out narrow peaky response tweeter (hard dome of course) with a 10 or larger woofer in a 3way!
Thanks again!

I would consider going the way AllenB suggested and use the LPG 51AT as a mid/tweeter in a 2-way setup. I would probably use a crossover point somewhere between 1.5-3kHz and let it run out to its upper limits. Then you can use the LPG 26T as an outboard (stand alone) super tweeter OR ambiance tweeter crossed over high (10+kHz) to add just that last bit of air and space. This also allows you to aim the tweeters any way you want to get the sound you want.

I have been doing the same with my system for the past few days, using a Dayton DC28F-8 as a super/ambiance tweeter with great results in aiding the upper most extremes of my Fostex FE103E which is being used as a mid/tweeter in a 2-way. It definitely makes the system and room seem larger than it is with the help of the outboard tweeter in the chain.

It's something to consider...
