Default Woofer choices Audio Technology vs Focal Audiom

Has anyone ever compared the bass quality of Audio Technology woofers compared to Focal Audiom ?

If anyone has good input pls let me know.

I have never used either and would like to get some ideas.

Mainly regarding 10 " - 13" sizes .

thank you

They are all good drivers at a price.

You should be more precise because I don't if you think about only bass or bass-midrange.
It depend on the midrange. If you use a focal mid, it's better to use a focal bass, AT bass-->AT mid...

That's a great driver. Eton Hex 12'' is another good one. As Jerome said, it is better to use the same family of drivers for the midrange and woofer.

What midrange and tweeter are you using?

Without any hesitation, the Audiotechnology. I think distortion could be a key difference. You can also make a crossover with very low slope

Audio T really .

Even though the Audiom has all these multiple magnets and super light cone it would be more distortion than Audio T driver ?

Do those Poly cones sound as good as the focals or some other paper cones like Volt per say ?

cheers

I also like the fact that the Audiom is very efficient .

when you start using the Audio T drivers with teh 102 mm voice coils they are not as efficient .

Prices are pretty much the same for both drivers .

First, i think distortion according the motor, for the Audiotech. Not the cone. The AT can go higher. But I compare the AT 10" to the focal 13".

Second I think the marriage with the ATC dome will be better. The ATC sound family is not closed to Focal sound.

Third is the crossover, you can go to 6 or 12dB slope.

I think it's better, the fourth reason, to use a 10", the AT, "better speed"

The Focal audiom is very good looking.

Note if I compare 12" to 13" . The AT have a motor with less inductance, can go higher easily with less distortion. The Audiom is built for bass ?

My speakers have the 15 inch Audioms (Onken cabinet)crossing over to Audiom 7K2 midrangers a good combo if you can find them.
