Default Crossover help

Please forgive me if this is the incorrect section - I'm new to this forum.
I have a B&O Beovox 1200 Type 6218 set of speakers that I use for surround sound. I am replacing the 6" woofer with a 6.5" full range speaker (Dayton PS180-8). This speaker has a theoretical range of 48 - 25,000 Hz.
The existing 2" tweeter has no name that I can identify, but specs say the original crossover was 4,000Hz and others informed me that B&O used the Celestion tweeters at the time (1972).

Is there anybody that can guide me to a new crossover design to use with the replacement speaker please and if so, what information is required?
Alternatively, can the current crossover be modified?

prior even attempting to answer Your question i have to ask what is the original goal.
While it may seem a bit rude to do this, do consider:
-> replacing a driver without makeing sure its specs will allow it to work properly in the box is allready a dead end.
-> fullrange drivers are fullrange, they require no crossover by default.

keeping those in mind the question arises, would not it be better to just make new boxes for the fullrange speakers, and not use a crossover at all. In my opinion it would be the most benefical.

In my case, I had the woofers reconed, but it turned out a disaster, as the so called "speaker doctor" glued the coils too so that they are totally rigid, destroying the speaker.

The speaker enclosures are 11 liters and I just took a chance with the new driver - remember, I know nothing about speakers. I was wondering about the crossover, as the tweeter will remain in the box.

Maybe I should just connect it without the tweeter and then with the tweeter and see what they sound like. Any suggestions on box design and measurements for the full range on its own would be appreciated.

Sorry to hear of the bad doctor surgery. Go ahead and try the FR's in the boxes you have, you have nothing to lose there. If they work for you, then buy a couple 1 mfd 50 V NP caps and add them to the tweeters for a little high end sparkle. You want to also buy a couple of cheap 10 watt resistors 2 & 4 ohm, to tone the tweeters down a bit.
