4 ohm drivers in series w/ crossover

So, thanks in advance.
I'm wanting to place a 4 ohm tweeter in series with a 4 ohm woofer. I am wondering if I can still place the crossover components in with their respective drivers.
I'm thinking no since the high pass crossover pieces in the chain for the tweeter would block the low pass before it reached the woofer.

If you have a 4-ohm woofer and a 4-ohm tweeter and make a two-way system with them, even with a series crossover the system nominal impedance will still be four ohms.
