Hello Forum.
I wish to build these: https://www.madisound.com/store/prod...oducts_id=8691 And power it with this: Altronics - Your One Stop Audio Visual & Electronics Supplier The listening volumes i'll be using them at will be 1 Watt = 90 db. The amplifier is 20 watts per channel RMS - Will this give me enough headroom for transient attacks? I want to stay away from Altronics 100 watt / channel offering, simply because it has a fan in it. Also the speakers are rated at 5-6 Ohms, Minimum 4.3 ohms. What should i do considering the amp is rated for 8 ohms? |

Hi!
The amplifier seems quite robust for those ... wow ! Those are real loudspeakers !!! Maybe ,they deserve a little more Transistors distort a lot more under heavy loads , so if you are tempted to crank the volume up ( and you will ),you'd better build an amplifier equipped with 2 or more paralleled output transistors . Maybe ..you should focus only in making the loudspeakers , and get a used amplifier ,if possible . Bye...! |
