Talking active horn or dome? I cant decide

Im starting To design a TM 2 way active speaker for 2 channel music and home theatre mains. The woofer will be a Aurum Cantus AC-250F1 10" Woofer. I cant decide what HF driver I should use. Either the Dayton Audio RS28F-4 silk dome or the Eminence PSD:2002S-8 Titanium Driver with a 90x 60 wave-guide. What would give me the best sound quality? thanks

With a 10" woofer you are likely going to need to XO low. The waveguide, or a good mid-tweeter (with XO <400 Hz) is your best bet.

if the waveguide is anything lke the celestion one i have, which is 90°x60° ellipical, then the waveguide probably wont be much use at 400Hz either. If i misunderstood your description then ignore what i wrote!

I'd expect a waveguide to be XOed at about 1000 Hz. The mid-tweeter approach would warrant an XO <400 Hz.

Running a 10" up to 1000Hz should be no trouble with the right driver, and running high like that (or even higher) would be favourable as far as the conventional waveguide approach is concerned.

Agreed again. even though the cut off for my waveguide/horn , is somewhat higher than 1k, i think its primarily for a compression driver, and states 3k F3. is the waveguide 60x90° or 60x90cm...confused....im not waveguide expert, but isnt 1k too low for this waveguide? EVEN if the compression drivers Fs is LOW. Id favour the midtweeter approach, although the waveguide is understandably a tempting idea.

The waveguide is 60x90°, the woofer is good to about 2k. I was thinking of crossing over at 1.6k(ish) the f3 in unibox is 29hz in a 70liter box.
what would the overall sound quality difference be between the two types?

No soft domes for WG . Pressure in the vicinity of the cone is not the same as in direct radiation .

I meant either or. A waveguide with the Eminence PSD:2002S-8 OR the Dayton Audio RS28F silk dome with no waveguide.
