Hi,
Planning to built a pair of speakers. Full spectrum sound, good imaging, enough dynamic reserves. Plan to run these semi-active as I own a Lyngdorf system. Peerless XXLS 10" woofer in a closed box (qtc at 0.707) and using room gain, boundary effect and Lyngdorfs Roomperfect to get well controled bass that extends into the cellar Any thoughts about easy to filter mid-woofers that still have a good polar response at 2Khz. Cheers Huib. |

Hi,
For the side mounted woofer the x-over frequency should be less than 200Hz, more likely to be about 100Hz the most is 120Hz. My experience is that your OB mid-woofer will NOT go down flat to 200Hz, so 100Hz is impossible, unless you heavily equalized it using DSP. |

Hi,
It's not an Open Baffle. It's a regular box design but because the Woofer doesn't needs a huge cabinet I slimmed it down to make it optically as lean as possible (WAF). The small top cabinet is what normally would be the mid chamber within the bigger cabinet. Huib |
