Default i'm a newbie and obviously in need of education so please mock my iggnorance

hi all i recently posted here asking a few questions about wiring but to cut a long story short.

I am a pretty decent amature chipy trying to build a pair of three way speakers for my man room with the following dimensions 3 & 1/4 inch mdf box which is 14" wide 2' high and 10" deep and finish the front in stained oak.

i am intending on putting a 10"jbl sub in bottom and a 5" jbl driver in the middle with a Piezo Horn on top,

now i have always used jbl equipment and i once worked at a redord label and they always used jbl and i was very impressed with them, but i have scoured this forum hi and low and see no mention of them any where just names of equipment i have never heard of.

now this may possibly be my ignorance and im hoping for a little education,

what are good speakers for what i intend to make if not jbl ? and is there a reason no body seems to use jbl on this forum? are they just crap commercial stuff?

Har, har, har, yer iggerant!

Over the years, JBL made some great drivers- I'm surprised the search turned up nothing. I use their 18" jobs as subs. The setup you propose is probably workable and will be quite efficient. Great for rock especially.

Welcome to diyAudio- there's a lot of people here who will help you along the way.

JBL makes great speakers!!! Many of us cannot afford them or find speakers that fit the bill for less money which leaves us with some extra cash. The extra cash comes in handy for flowers, candy, jewelery, dinner out, etc., with which to bribe significant other to allow big assssssss speakers into the house.
