I Got My Swagga Back!
Here's the deal - Easy and Quick starts with combining some of the components and letting someone else do the math. This example involves a pair of NXG Pro 103i triaxial driver systems with integrated dual freq 3-position eq and crossovers. I used two R/T 770 enclosure-series 12-Inch single sealed bass speaker boxes which are pre-built using carpeted 3/4" MDF and have a pre-cut 11" driver hole so you'll have to cut the stock hole out to 11.75". The enclosures include a rear-mounted cable connection panel so you solder one length of single-pair cable to the connection panel inside and that's it for wiring. Finally stuff the enclosures with 2.5 pounds each Morning Glory 5-Pound premium fiberfill. It took me around two and a half hours work including some quick math to match enclosure volume with the woofer driver specs to within 5%. This system totally exceeded my expectations. You have to hear it to believe it. This 3-way, full range pair is rated at around 6 ohms and 150 watts. It has great DubStep class bass and superior mid/high articulation. Bonus: The tweeters swivel! The first round of pictures I took came out poorly. However I am posting them anyway and will replace them when I get some better lighting or a tripod.
Picture one shows the triaxial bridge.
Picture two is a right side oblique front view with the mesh grille in place.
Picture three shows one of the two 3-position eq switches that is mounted near the mid driver at the end of the triaxial bridge. There is another switch near the tweeter.
Picture four is a front right oblique with the grille removed. Low light and no tripod. OY!
Picture five shows the no-frills rear panel connector plate which is already mounted on the boxes when you get them.
