Default green alternative to eggcrate for BR cabinet?

im in a bit of a bind. i decided to go as voc free as possible with my interior for i'm about to welcome my baby into it. which meant no mdf, polyurethane furnitures, vinyl decor ...and even the eggcrate foam inside my speakers. i read that polyurethane breaks down over time into harmful chemicals that are it's binders and i believe i smelled it first hand from the port of my speakers that had the foams inside for almost 2 years now. it had a bit of quizzy smell that reminded me of glue and which wasn't there in the beginning. the problem is,i can't seem to find a voc free alternative that does as a good a ,job as eggcrate foam- polyfill 'sheet': fail, 3m thinsulate :fail.... would love to try blonded logic Bonded Logic - Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation but i think the shipping price to south korea where i am could make it an overkill. might as well go with latex foam for that price...

i have a lot of standing waves in my cabinet and even when i take care of lower mid resonance, still can't seem to damp out the bass booms without overstuffing it. could you guys help me out? appreciate it

Given that eggcrate foam is not tha best damping, it should be pretty easy to meet your goal. The UltraTouch 1/2" recycled cotton felt we use would qualify. Available from CSS.

I have sheep and my wife runs a business around homespun wool and alpaca garments.

We are currently looking at supplying specially prepared wool damping materials for audio (blakkshepeaudio, no less) use and hope to have some news shortly. Wool works great if you know what to do with it.

Regards,
Keith Arnold

I've been on the same search the past few days so maybe this will help

I just ordered this same material from home depot (online only) last night http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053 at a significantly lower price than being sold at CSS. 46 dollars shipped for 32 square feet at 2 inches thickness
I plan on creating sound absorption panels when I get my hands on the wall batting. The company claims that the material has a larger sound absorption coefficient than fiberglass insulation (by 35%). That claim is made here YouTube - Bonded Logic natural fiber insulation - buildaroo.com

Althou from the same base, it is not the same material. This stuff has its uses, it is very good for volume fill. This is skinner than the same stuff we got (which is 3 1/2" thick), but still too thick for a lot of applications, And it does not readily slpit into thinner pieces.

Gary Pimm uses this in his Hartley Boffle-like bass enclosures.

The felt is quite a bit denser, and a dream to work with. Ideal for lining walls.

as for sheep wool, i thought stuffing a ported enclosure was a bad idea. if not, how about silk? no sheep farms near seoul but i do know of a silk factory. and it doesn't smell

PreSapian , silk is for dome tweeters !!!
Also woven carpets (wool) are very good , the back is ready to be glued on the internal surfaces . Then some extra wool or cotton stuffing may be needed ,depending on box structure and bass alignment .

i'm also wanting to keep the budget relatively low... got a baby on board, remember.
so instead of cutting up a perfectly luxurious wool carpet, how about polyester carpet with latex backing?

also, stuffing the enclosure with lose material is not recommended, right? i was talking about silk fibers.
