I need a speaker selector A/B switch that does not connect the negative speaker sides together as most of them seem to do. I need to be able to A/B two sets of speakers and two Tripath-type amps which do not work if the speaker negative terminals are tied together.
I bought a Dayton source/speaker switch but the (-) teminals are common making it unsuitable for that kind of amp. I'm afraid they may all be like that. Are there any that aren't?

I made a similar inquiry not long ago. Response was minimal.
I think your best bet may be some good DPDT break-before-make switches. Unless you can mod that Dayton unit... |

Design wise, should I be concerned about transients caused by mechanical switching under power? I'd like to be able to switch on the fly but power would probably not be >10 watts or so. I agree with break before make.

Lower power probably helps, but personally I'd avoid on the fly switching if possible. If you really want it you'll need to give caution to the amps. I don't know how t-amps respond to being unloaded, even (or especially) briefly. That issue may have been brought up here in the forums at some point. And if power is on break-before-make is not optional I would think.
