Just bought a pair of JBL L100 pseakers: ythe l pads seem to be stuck or rusted. Not too familiar with the speaker. How do I get to these pads and how can I remove LPad without dmagae: want to spray some deoxit on it. Christowp

Do they turn at all? Some pads have require more that usual force to turn them, they just feel hard to turn. If they are rusted I would replace them beacuse they will never be right again. Can you get at them? you can try cleaning them in place if you can get to them. Show pictures if you can.

L pads will always corrode over time, best to find the setting you like, measure the values and replace them with fixed resistors

Thank you for replies: the one L pad (midrange) makes a creaking noise when I try to move it: the sound from that speaker is also scratchy in the mid range driver.
Will follow up on the advice regards Christowp |
