I'm going to be building a pair of speakers for a friend and will use cabinets I have on hand. They were 2-ways that I used Scan speak 9500 tweeters and Audax HM170 woofers with. I'd like to keep the tweeters so I'm looking for an inexpensive alternative tweeter. I was hoping to use something like Vifa D25AG's or DX25's but it looks like mounting holes may be slightly different. If possible, I'd like to find something that has pretty much the same dimensions as the 9500's so I don't have to drill new mounting holes and try to install t-nuts for them. The cabinets are MDF so I'm a little leary of just using wood screws. Anyone know of any possibilities? The Scan Speak 9300's are out of the budget too. I'd like to find something for less than $100US per pair.
thanks, Dan |
