Default Coles supertweeter cleaning question

Hello there,
I have a pair of Coles supertweeters that I am in the process of cleaning up and restoring. So far I have carefully dismantled the units and now need to clean them, but I was wondering if anyone knew what to use on the diaphragm. I am unsure what plastic it's made from, and don't want to run the risk of damaging it or dissolving it. If anyone has any tips or info that would be appreciated.

When I first saw the thread, I thought that Coles supermarkets were selling tweeters!???
As for cleaning, I've never cleaned a tweeter before, does it have any sticky coating on it?

No it has no coating, its an old British tweeter, used in some designs by KEF, Linn, B&W etc. Quite sought after now. The diaphragm is very fragile, and is actually the diaphragm originally designed for use in a microphone. I just wasn't 100% sure what cleaning agents to use, for risk of damaging or dissolving the diaphragm.
I have since found out that methylated spirits is safe to use, so thats the question answered. I might post some pics of the pair once I have re-finished and painted them and replaced all the screws etc.
