Does anyone know what this is? I was told that this is what I should be using, but the source that told me about it would not say anything more. I am very puzzled. Is this kinda like the Karlson slot?

No, the K-slot spreads a pipe's output over a wider BW, ergo it's a high pass filter. A parabolic vent is a low pass filter, like a high performance vehicle's exhaust resonator.

GM:
Could you give us a description of this parablic vent? Does the end open up like a horn, or something like that?

For use as a cab vent, the ends would normally be identical, but could be different, with the body of the tube expanding, IOW the opposite of a vent flared at both ends.

So can you give me a description of how it works and what it looks like? Also How do you tune it?
