Hi, this is my first post on these forums, although I'm a regular over at Caraudioforum.com.
I'm currently running some random old bookshelf speakers on an old receiver through my computer. I plan on running a tempest ported with about 350watts running through it, and I want to upgrade the speakers. It will stay a 2.1 system, it's main purpose is for listening to music and gaming. They are close range speakers (less than 3 feet away from me). Budget is really tight, so I want to stick with a basic 2-way setup, no MTM or anything. say ~$200 or less for the drivers and crossovers. Since the speakers are going to be very close to monitors, they need to be shielded, and I just assume buy shielded speakers than DIYing it. I was shopping around madisound and parts express, and the vifa MG 7" and tweet, along with the seas p17rc and 27tbc looked to be good speakers in my price range. Anybody else have any suggestions for close range computer speakers? btw power is undecided so far, I plan on upgrading the receiver sometime in the future. |
