Tweeter Resonance Frecuency

I have a pair of Audax AW010E1. They have a resonance frecuency in 3K. I was reading in Elliot´s page that He "suggest an absolute minimum of about 2.5 octaves between the driver
resonance and crossover frequency". What happens if I use a XO frecuency of 4K and I use a correction circuit (I mean a RLC circuit in parallel to TW)? Is it right? Any comments would be appreciated.
Greetings
Marcelo.

The standard rule of thumb is allow two octaves OR use a resonant trap filter.

If you design your peak filter carefully, you should have no problem with the tweeter crossover, assuming the tweeter can handle being crossed at that frequency.

Best would be to use at least a 2nd order crossover along with the peak filter. Steeper slopes are important when crossing low, unless you will only use them for background music.
