okie, so an open baffle system basically has the driver mounted on a board sticking up in the air. what prevents the sound waves from reflecting off of surfaces behind the speaker and causing cancelation?

as far as i know,thats the whole point,the rear wave cancels with the front causing a slow 6db/octave roll off from a high frequency depending on baffle size.
do a search for Dipole in this forum, try Threads only not posts when u search.
u need HEAPS OF excursion x area and mid Q woofer,and EQ to boost low end
eg buy 2 15s for dipole instead of a 12 in sealed box
its kinda crazy and sounds like not the right thing to do,,but sounds nice to many people.
