I built some small IB enclosures for my CSS FR125SR drivers (http://creativesound.ca/pdf/CSS-FR125SR-dataS.pdf) for desktop/kitchen use.
The FR125SR (to my ears) is lacking in HF unless you're sitting directly on-axis, due to the HF beaming of the driver. Even on axis, the driver sounds a bit dull at the top end. Zaphaudio measured the driver and confirmed the lack of HF (Zaph|Audio). I have two spare Sawafuji SZ-2T tweeters that I'd like to add to handle the extreme HF (>5KHz). Info on these interesting (and cheap) tweeters can be found at: ApexJr Ribbon Tweeter The tweeters are significantly more sensitive than the CSS drivers, so I plan on using a resitor network to pad them down by approx 5dB (tbc) while keeping the 7ohm characteristic impedance. My question is what crossover do you think would be best? I was thinking of trying a 2nd order LR at 5K for starters. Any thoughts? |

Hi, have you used the Sawafuji ? I would like to use them as super tweeters in an open array. Could this work ?
