12' / 30cm Woofer in BL-Horn up to 1500Hz?

Hi there

I already have the Monacor SP12A-302 PA which is used in the "Menhir" loudspeaker (quite well known in Europe?) - see

As I am not 100% satisfied with bass performance in the current set-up I was wondering, whether this driver would work in a rear loaded horn to get a flat response down to approx 50Hz? Sort of like a FAST with the Sub from 20-50, the "full range SP12A-302" from 50-1500 or 2000 and then the Tweeter from 1500/2000 - ok more or less a classical 2-Way but with BL-Horn for the lows...

Any opinions? Length of such a horn - more like 0.6m (Hornkehle) or more like 1.5m (classic)? Mouth-opening? Many foldings to avoid the medium frequencies from getting through the horn or just as straight as possible? horn contour favorites? Or is this just a bad idea?

Length/volume of the horn would be less relevant as the loudspeakers will be integrated into a inwall system with a depth of approx 30cm - given a heigth of 2.4m and a width of up to 1.1m - there should be more than enough space for also more exotic ideas...

Or should I simply put this woofer into a closed box...
