Default Anyone out here built custom YAMAHA NS1000s

Anyone re-packaged these speakers into more modern looking cabinets, with perhaps more volume for better bass?
I'm thinking of making a custom floorstander with all the YAMAHA NS1000 components. My enclosures are looking pretty tired.

These are not mine, but they certainly have a more contemporary look. Unfortunately the drivers themselves look pretty old school.

There's not a lot you can do really. If you change the box shape and dimensions then there's almost certainly work to be done in the crossover again and why mess with a classic. So you mostly see the old cabinet rebuilt with a new paint job or veneer - nothing really radical otherwise its a different speaker with the same drivers as the NS1000.

Somewhere I found Thiele/Small parameters for the bass driver that suggested that it would be suitable for bass reflex. I believe that keeping the same width dimensions and the same driver placement (relative tot he top edge) there'd be no need for reworking the crossover with this mod.
