Default Sound Dynamics 100S wiring

Hello all. I hope someone has an old set of Sound Dynamics 100S speakers. They are the ones that handle 60Wrms, have a 4 ohm 10" woofer and a spun aluminium cone on a phenolic tweeter, which is about 6 ohms from memory.

I have recently re-boxed mine and stuffed up the x-over.

I have kept a photograph of the crossover and can replicate it, but I need to know which couloured wires go to which spade connectors on what drivers.

I already know the component values and the rest of the wiring but.

The wires coming out of the standard Sound Dynamics crossover are;
Red, Black, Blue and Yellow. But which goes to Tweet+, Which one goes to Tweet-, Which one goes to Woof+ and which one to Woof- ????

I will thank you in advance because I know it's a bit of a hassel pulling the drivers out.

Here is a picture of the original crossover that I wish to replicate;

Cheers and bye for now, Phil Elliott

With a closer look at the wiring, or if you could draw a schematic, it would be easy enough to guess. Tweeter polarity would need trial listening or measurement.

Hi there Allan, I'm in Devonport Tassie. I will get back soon with a schematic, But as I say, the polarity is the issue. This is a very different crossover that worked well, and I wish I never messed around with it!
Cheers mate, Phil Elliott

I'm in central western NSW. It shouldn't be too hard to tell what the polarity is meant to be.

I had a mate that worked on the Cotton up that way, in Narrabri. I will get back soon.

It may look like there's no filter for the woofer - its probably connected directly with the black (-) and red (+) wires. Tweeter should be blue and yellow.

Default Do you reckon this looks right - schematic

HI stig. here's a quick draft. Can you describe the signal path or even the type of crossover? Does it look 'RIGHT' to you?

My experience is limited to simple 6db/oct filters and haven't seen this one before.

What do you reckon?

Cheers and bye for now, Phil E.

This looks right to me!

Woofer is connected directly without crossover, and the tweeter is using a 3rd order (18 dB/oct) filter with a series resistor to attenuate the tweeter a little bit.

I agree with Stig. Now try the tweeter in both polarities. If you can't pick the best one, let us know.
