I modeled the IB15 for various sealed boxes in WinISD and it looked quite good. Nothing a little eq can't correct. Why would this be a bad idea? I am guessing that if it made sense, a lot more people would be doing it...
If its actually a possibility, how high can I cross it over... directly to a 1" CD maybe, for a full frequency 2 way system... |

Acoustic Elegance IB15, if it is this speaker you are discussing, is a very good basspeaker. I use them in my Blindstone OB: The BlindStone OB with very pleasent result. However I think that OB beside IB is its best venue. A 400 l closed box will have a total Q = 1 which is a reasonable compromise but not optimal.
They cannot be crossed any higher than 250 Hz as I investigated in my thread. /Erling Last edited by skorpion; 1st March 2011 at 09:23 AM. |
