Default Unibox quick question / driver suggestion

Hi everyone, I am just using unibox to process some frd files for later use in designing some new speakers. I am using the Seas MCA15RCY drivers as mids and i was just wondering, when modelling in unibox as a mid, do i use the 'closed box' setting and just use that at something appropriate which in this case is 2L volume?

Cheers in advance, also if anyone has any comment or opinions on these drivers that would be appreciated too, i am to pair them with some Scanspeak 18W bass units and Scan D2905 tweeters.

Andrew.

For some purposes actual on baffle plots will be useful. I would use generic plots only as a starting point in a design. It isn't so much the rear enclosure. Your choice there is not unreasonable.

Thanks AllenB, thats all i needed to hear. I've also plotted the drivers on my baffle design with BDS to obtain more accurate results and used the FRD combiner etc.

You're welcome. I don't want you to think I was suggesting baffle step compensation per se. The baffle step changes the on axis sound but the same amount of sound still gets out into the room regardless, so full BSC is rarely a good idea outside of an anechoic chamber.

Yeh no worries, i realise that since most rooms being very poor acoustically will reflect the off axis response all over the place, hence distorting the effect of BSC in realistic terms - but thanks for the tip, any advice is always helpfull!
