I am currently gathering parts for a Swans M1 build. And I have gotten almost everything sorted, except the inductors. I can't find the values given in the schematic anywhere. It says to get 0.58mh and 0.87mh, but the only ones I can find anywhere I look is either .56 and .90 and so on. What difference would that actually make, say if I got .60 and .90mh instead. In the older version of this xover it's used other values entirely for the inductors, but not resistors or caps. .65mh and 1.3mh are the values in one schematic I found, said to be an older inferior version og the one I am looking for inductors for.
Can anyone help straighten this out for me? |

you are right on the .58 and .87 being the most current revision. i just ordered my parts yesterday and went .56 and .90. i highly doubt anyone could hear 1% differentials. if your are truly concerned, by the slightly larger coils and an inductor meter and unwind a little.
if you want to give this a try, it might work. can't vouch for it myself but i was told it is reasonably accurate. this software tells you how much to unwind without a meter.? Inductor Designer / Calculator david |

I also doubt you'll be able to discern the difference in those coil values. You also have to recognize that the coils you are ordering are either +/-1% or +/-3% tolerance so the .56 you buy may be anywhere from .54 to .58 to begin with. The bigger factor here is driver tolerances so don't sweat it.
A cheep LRC meter can be had for $30 at amazon if you would like to check the coils values you are using. |

I doubt I'll hear the difference aswell, so for convenience I might get the closest values. Just found out though, that I could get the values customized from the shop for an extra couple of bucks from the store. Thankyou for the reply

Does anyone have the plans for Swans M1.2? I have seen this on a chinese (I think)site, but the pics were poor.

the only actual box plans i have seen are on the chinese site and yes they are fuzzy. google will translate for you. the original box was .289cuft. with .75" walls but the revised design ,which i believe they still sell has 1" walls and is ~.38cuft.
the original plans create a very strong, inert box and i just modded the dimensions to get my .38 box from them. i have collected everything i can find on this design over the years. a lot of it is not on the web anymore nor was archived. send me an email and i can send you what i have. by the way, just finished mine yesterday. still breaking in but sounding very nice. will post pics soon. david |
