Ric Cicconi and I did all the design work on the KM1. I've discussed it a little here: The Goals for an "Ideal Loudspeaker" - The Classic Speaker Pages Discussion Forums - Page 9 It was an interesting test bed for advanced technology including analog simulation of voice coil temperature and some very non-traditional bass reflex techniques. Hey Dave,
You probably get asked this a lot: Of all the speaker models you have designed or had a hand in, of which one are you most proud? Which would you want most in your listening room? |

Other big systems I've worked on are the Snell XA90 and XA75, Mac XRT24 and 26, The KEF KM1 and the JBL 4430 and 35. I have been equally proud with some unknow systems such as the PSB VS300, Mac HT1, Snell K5. Also lots of innovative custom install speakers, but none of them big sellers ![]() Regards, David Smith Attached, my XA Refs in the living room, plus some other brochure pictures. |

Never had the pleasure of auditioning, but those XA references seem like an excellent product. BS marketing / pseudoscience notably absent. Kudos!
Edit: and now I can place your avatar! |
