Ric Cicconi and I did all the design work on the KM1. I've discussed it a little here:

It was an interesting test bed for advanced technology including analog simulation of voice coil temperature and some very non-traditional bass reflex techniques.

Hey Dave,

You probably get asked this a lot: Of all the speaker models you have designed or had a hand in, of which one are you most proud? Which would you want most in your listening room?

The speakers in my living room are prototypes of the Snell XA Reference. I'm totally satisfied with their sound and love the Rosewood cabinets.

Other big systems I've worked on are the Snell XA90 and XA75, Mac XRT24 and 26, The KEF KM1 and the JBL 4430 and 35. I have been equally proud with some unknow systems such as the PSB VS300, Mac HT1, Snell K5. Also lots of innovative custom install speakers, but none of them big sellers

Never had the pleasure of auditioning, but those XA references seem like an excellent product. BS marketing / pseudoscience notably absent. Kudos!

The 4430 definitely need a large cup size.
