Default SEAS Prestige 2.5 way

Hi everybody!

I am currently considering a 2.5 way loudspeaker based on some SEAS drivers. So first of all I chose the CA22RNY because of its somewhat higher sensitivity which is something I tend to like in a loudspeaker. (back home I listen to a se 300b amp which is 7.5W). I then started looking for a tweeter and I was thinking of using a regular dome tweeter with a small waveguide in front. However, I came across the Seas 27TBCD tweeter which already has the "lens" and furthermore has a resonance of 900Hz which should allow some control over directionality at the crossover frequency.

I would really appreciate some comments on the idea of a speaker based on:
Seas 27TBCD
Seas CA22RNX
Seas CA22RNY

The rny being cut at around 400-500Hz to compensate for the baffle step response without losing efficiency. This driver has however a nastier cone break-up resonance at 3kHz so serious attenuation has to be taken into consideration.

I am planning on running both bass drivers in independent vented enclosures.

So I'm open to any suggestions, comments and criticism.

Thanks

The tweeter sensitivity may be a little low after you flatten the response. It looks like about 88 dB above 10k.

These are both 3-ways, but use the 22RNX -

His website is incredible, it's worth a long, deep look...

Hi.

With those bass drivers vented your talking a pair of very big speakers .....

Take a long hard look at the information here :

Note the treble c/o is applied to both drivers and then one gets the
additional baffle step big inductor, a nice and effective arrangement.

Hi,

He guys ! He wants to use a 7.5W amplifier

If you want high sensitivity 96dB, use the same woofers, you must have the same sensitivity in the bass !

2xCA22RNY and a high efficiency tweeter monacor DT300+Waveguide, TW034 + waveguide
SEAS is not a HES (High Efficiency Speaker) manufacturer.

Better to see the Troels HES section

You can also try a project like this Beyma 15MI100+B&C DE250 and RCF H100 (Better use the 12dB/18dB crossover) 101dB 1W/1m Box 63L@65Hz

It is difficult to make a small HES with a lot of bass extension

Have Fun.
