I'm projecting these:
Woofer: Dayton DA175-8 Tweeter: Tymphany- Vifa DX25TG05-04 In closed box Qtc=0,707 , with "typical" damping (glass wool) ![]() ![]() Crossover: Hp: Cs=22uF; Lp=0,82mH ; Rs=8,2ohm Lp: Cp=12uF; Ls= 1,5mH Subwoofer Response (Low pass freq. circa 1300Hz) Total cost will be around 350€... Could anybody express an opinion? Critics? How could it sound? Does anybody have experienced one of these drivers? Last edited by Centvrion; 5th February 2011 at 06:39 PM. |

Looks OK from here...Ya did your homework, turning down the BIG difference of sensitivities 85Db vs. 92 Db woofer to tweeter. At 85 Db total sensitivity will be a big power "sucker"..with the roll-off down low your a candidate for a sub-woofer. A single 12" DVC should suffice. Mount the "satellites" up near ..say chest level on stands. Perhaps a 'plate amp' for the Sub & your good to go.

For anyone looking at this design: take the cabinet structure and volume, crossover net, but move that woofer up of at least 6cm!
