I've been doing some figgerin. The cone area is given as 78.54 cm^2. The rule of thumb I've read is that the small end of the line should have the same area. But in the design given by E.J. Jordan is 49 cm^2.

I'm having difficulty reconciling the total box volume also. Can one of the TL gurus give it a quick look?

The box: http://www.ejjordan.co.uk/enclosures.html (Scroll down to JORDAN JX92S VTL vented/TL box design)

The speaker: http://www.ejjordan.co.uk/jx92.html

it could be taller
What about a separate sealed box for a stand? It could be the same width, height, and finish so it would look like a contiuation of the system. You'd want to make sure it was acoustically dead, otherwise you'd be adding a resonance chamber.

You can even make them one, just a empty chamber under the transmisionline. Fill it up with sand and is is as dead as a rock and steady as it can be

Maybe an other idea...
can you make the (transmision)line one stait end whitout tuns? The end would be the floor becouse you need more length and you leave the back unused (or you fill it whit sand

Just some ideas...
