Goofey, thanks for the pics.

I am looking for the least compromises in a single driver speaker myself so I hope you don't mind some questions.

Why did you chose the Coral Beta 10 in the first place?
Were you trying to correct a specific problem or just achieve a general improvement?
What were the results of listening to the changes?
What have you done other than the spider?
What is the driver coated with?
Can you list your system?

Thanks Again
Tom

Hi Tom!

I am looking for the least compromises in a single driver speaker myself so I hope you don't mind some questions.

Please ask away!

Why did you chose the Coral Beta 10 in the first place?

Because I think that it was the best fullranger ever!

Were you trying to correct a specific problem or just achieve a general improvement?

Both , see below.

What were the results of listening to the changes?

Everything got better , deeper bass , MUCH flatter response , extremely flat from 25HZ to 12KHZ(mounted in horns)
Free sounding , great imaging , I thought I will miss a tweeter , but no!
The modded Corals are 102dB/1W in horns , and in the hole area from 25HZ to 12KHZ , yes it has been meassured!!

What have you done other than the spider?

Extra magnet , phaseplug removed , new 1/3 tabletennisdustcap attached , surrounds coated with vaseline , voicecoils replaced with some from Beta8's , gives longer travel , but still 8 Ohm's!

What is the driver coated with?

Something called Isopunkt , you use it for repairing roofingfelt , and it MUST be the Zylen based type , just 1 coat on the front of cone.

Can you list your system?

For the moment I use an Parafeed 2A3 amp with the horns.
Own design.
Great combo

Best Regards Goofey
