Smile Sealed Tymphany MTM's

Hello,
I bought 2 pairs of these Tymphany TPY04W16S0086 16 ohm woofers. They look very similar to Vifa PL11 series drivers. They are, I believe, OEM for Sonus Faber.

Being 16 ohm they are begging to be ran in parallel in a MTM setup. I am thinking sealed enclosure(s) Plus a real woofer.
Do you speaker builders have any thoughts? In the MTM arrangement does each M get its’ own separated volume in the enclosure or do they both share the larger single volume?
DT
All just for fun!

Oh heck and me with no money to spend/
my first thoughts were WMTMW with a sub on the bottom.

Sealed mid with a single compartment for both mids and a really good tweeter

Look like PL line to me, I don't like the soft poly dust-cap

Buy em and put them away until you can get some nice 8inch woofers to match

I started, but, then decided I need to redo the baffle to offset the tweeter...

Hi,

Two in MTM arrangement could be used as the mids in a 3 way.

Alternatively they would also be good for small TMM or MTM
2 or 2.5 way satellites to be used with a subs in an AV system.

Vas is tiny, due to the high Fs which dictates for AV a fairly
high x/o point and probably stereo subs for the best results.

rgds, sreten.

SPL: 84dB/1W/1m is really playing with numbers, its not stated
as efficiency or sensitivity. They are either 81dB/2.83V/1m or
84dB/2.83V/1m, and it really should be made clear what it is.
