Default Vertical offset tradeoff versus time alignment

At crossover, a tweeter and woofer are one wavelength apart and the tweeter is 0.4 wavelength behind the woofer. I want to bring the tweeter forward to align it.

If I need to create a 45 degree step in the baffle, and the vertical spacing has to increase to 1.6 wavelength, will this be an acceptable compromise?
