Default Zenith Allegro 3000 tweeters

Hi all-
I recently came across my dad's old Zenith Allegro 3000's in my attic, and decided to try them out. The subs work fine, although one has a slight tear, but the horn tweeters are blown in both cabinets. I really want to fix these up so that they're in good working condition. On the back of the tweeters it says:
49-1288
Foster
7820 Japan
8620
Would I be able to buy new tweeters to replace them, or would I have to find old tweeters from back in the day on ebay or something?

I have a set in the boxes still (shown here during a speakerectomy) and probably some on a shelf somewhere. Let me have a look on Monday when I'm back. I'm not sure what they are worth though, have you looked on ebay or Craigslist? Judging by the date code mine are a year newer. Do yours still look like the first picture?

Too bad you're not closer we could arrange for you to have the speakers not just the tweeter.

Actually, maybe Dave's got some of those he could get to you. I'll ask in the backroom.

That is the newer Foster tweeter. I've had a few pair thru here, don't think i have any on hand. Barry might, but if you can talk Cal out of his, you'd be good to go.

Thanks!
That looks exactly like the speakers I have, but I don't want to have a perfectly good pair of speakers torn up just for their tweeters, so I think seeing if you have any on a shelf somewhere first would be best. Also there was a couple of ebay auctions selling a set of 3 similar tweeters on ebay for like $15, but I don't know how they compare with the ones we are talking about Click the image to open in full size.ZENITH/FOSTER 3.5" HORN TWEETERS/ 49-1168/ 8 OHM
Let's talk more about price once you see if you have some lying around or not.

Turns out I don't have the 1288's but I do have the 1166's which are pretty good. They are very much 'pre-loved' but work just fine. Send me a PM if you still need them. I think you will like them better than the ebay ones. I have some of those too.
