Default 15" woofer to pair with FE126e

I've been doing a lot of searching and can't seem to make up my mind but I was wondering what 15" woofer would be a good mate for an FE126e? I'm going to try out a front horn for the fostex and would like a 15 (or 2) to cover 200 hz and down to at least 50 hz. Just looking for a high efficiency option. I've looked at a lot of stuff from eminence and I like the beta and even the 12LTA. This will be a fully active system.

i use the beta15 with an "old" fe164 ob series as per
"James OB"

you might do well to look at the AE drivers as well. one of them
is pretty cheap, although not nearly as cheap as the eminence.

have you the new 126 or an older one?

It's just the E series 126.

OB was an option but I would like a little more power handling and my room isn't really optimal for OB. I could pick out an OB setup fairly easy as there are less (tried and true) drivers to choose from.

PE has a sale on all Goldwood drivers this month (20% off) and they have a good selection of 15" drivers. Just a suggestion if price is a consideration. For high efficiency eminence is always a great option.

I've been looking at those. I've seen a lot of Eminence, just don't which one would be the right choice? Medium, to large enclosure would be okay

To 200Hz, Kapplite 3015LF in a 120L ported at 40Hz. Pretty sure this one is in the cab app note on the 3015LF page. JBL 2225/2226 are other options.

I run the Eminence Alpha 15a in "H" frames per Martin King's paper with my 126s. Great combo.

Hi,

Since you're in Europe you may like to check out Fane Sovereign 15-250. Thomann has them since I last looked.

Better than Eminences, Fane don't have high 10-20dB peak above 1kHz like Eminences. Can use low order filter to cross. Simple.

Because I'm bored I looked at the Prodance measurements of the 3015LF and the Fane. At the top end they look quite similar, but the Fane is also very high Qt making it a tougher fit into an enclosure.

Besides, the few measurements of seen of the Kappalite drivers don't show the huge peak you describe. And with an LR24 at 200hz, any that is there will be a long way down.
