I plan on making some cheap speakers for friends using the 4ohm Peerless SKO-130....
http://www.audiolabga.com/pdf/SKO130-4.PDF ... and the Peerless SR19DT tweeter.... Peerless Specs Looking at the SKO-130 response it appears to roll off nicely at about 27dB per octave over 5KHz or so. Would a fourth order filter on the tweeter (-3dB at 6KHz) be enough? (nothing on the bass driver) I'm sure this isn't optimal but I'm keen to find a simple solution. |

I'd go 2nd order LR at 4Khz, crossing over both woofer & tweeter - same parts count.
This disregards any need for baffle step correction, if they're used against a wall or near field that's OK.
