Default Searching for a good TL project

Hey everybody I was wondering if you all would be able to help me with my search. I am looking to build a transmission line speaker. I have been searching the internet for a kit or plans for a nice TL design. The only one that I have found was one in the Zalytron catalog. However, the focal drivers appear to be no longer made as the project is a few years old. Has anyone come across any TL designs on the internet or elsewhere(exclude the one in Mr. Weem's speaker book). Or does anyone have an ideas on one they're building, or have built that they would like to share.

A good website to start with is (lots of links and projects)
http://www.t-linespeakers.org

Also another good site that from memory has at least on TL design,
http://www.speakerbuilder.net

The only TL kits I know of are one from Seas called the Thor
http://www.seas.no/thor.htm

and VAF Research have TL based kits,
http://www.vaf.com.au

I have built a pair of 2 way floor standing TL speakers that I am very happy with. I have not gotten around to setting up a web site yet, but I am happy to send you some pictures if you are interested.

Regards,
Tim.

I will send you the picks when I get home (3-4 hours).
They ar about 1MB worth. I only have a very rough hand drawn plan, but I will scan it in and sent it also.

The drivers are both Vifa,
D27TG-35-06 1" Silk Dome Tweeter
P17WJ-00-08 6.5"Polycone Midbase

Regards,
Tim.

You might want to check this website out.

http://www.zelfbouwluidsprekers.nl/

It has a Scanspeak TL called EVENT using

1) Mid woofer 18W8535
2) Tweeter D2905/9300

I think this kit should be very good value for money as the drivers are well known for their musicality.

BTW I'm looking for some testimonials from anyone in this forum who has built this kit. Pls share your experience with us. Thanks.

will.

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your great site! It was a great resource to me when I was building my speakers.

I had always intended to offer my project back to your site, but currently my speakers are finished only in raw MDF. I was going to wait till after I have veneered them before posting them on the web.

Regards,
Tim.
