Need help 2 way bookshelf speaker and crossover design..

I need to build bookshelf 2 way speaker with driver below. Does any one can help me to calculate the match box dimension (HxWxD) and also the crossover design for it. The character of speaker i need is detail with warm bass and a little deep..i like jazz with progressive beat. Tks a lot ..cu

I presume that you have already purchased the drivers from your "need to build." Have you built any speakers before?

Is this your first project of many and you want to learn or are you just looking to get a set of speakers? If it is a one off project, why not just pay Madisound to design a crossover and specify a box? At worst it will be a good starting point for tweaking.

How much effort are you willing to put into designing yourself? Ideally you will measure the drivers' responses in your enclosure and design a crossover from that data, but you can sometimes get acceptable results using published data.

I haven't used either driver, but based on Zaph's reviews, you will probably want to go with a sealed box and cross over no lower than 2KHz LR4. The sealed box will probably get you an F3 in the upper 50s (seat of the pants number, model it in Unibox, WinISD, Basta, Speaker Workshop or some other program) My preference is to cross as low as possible given tweeter limitations, trying for the smoothest power response.

Does "I like jazz with a progressive beat" mean you are a bit of a bass head like me? If so, you probably won't be satisfied with the bass extension of the sealed cabinet. If your room is small enough, you might go with a ported enclosure and get into the mid 40s. In a larger room or if you really want to hear that upright bass, you will want a subwoofer. No getting around physics.

actually I haven't experienced in electronic and audio. I just read and see the product in store audio and try to build DIY spekaer with character and box design of me. you are right for design by madisound, but i have difficult to communicate and payment, cause i'm from remote city in indonesia.
