Default AAD 7001i clones ?

Probably the best 2-way bookshelf speaker in the world , with a response down to 25 ( ?! ) hz .. using 5' midrange and a 6.5' passive radiator

AAD 7001 Studio Monitors Review in Mix magazine product review of the AAD 7001 Studio Monitors

IS IT POSSIBLE , to build anything like this ? ( for less the 12,000$ )

or are there any high end 2 way designs like that , that you think can rival them ?

i found this thread as i'm interrested in this too. it would already be a great step to get this response out of a box of this size. respone is 28hz at -8db. this should perhaps be possible to be achieved by diy.

What SPL are we talking about here. The only thing I can think of is a small office type distance, speaker monitors. I would not want to be 10 feet away and expect quality bass out of that design and its definitely not a HT speaker design. Looks like a bass distortion design IMO. They can not break the simple laws of physics.

From the link....
" making them equally desirable in home theater "

Not in any high end custom HT room I have experienced. You do not stick wimpy 5" woofers and 88dB sensitivity design is a HT room if you want to classify it as "High End".

FWIW, near field listening might sound amazing. The box is definitely over built so there is some applications it should sound awesome.
