Default Which Eminence 10" (Correction)

I want to try and design/build some speakers using Eminence woofers and Motorola Horn drivers.

I don't have much to choose from so decided on the Motorola KSN1188A with the KSN1151A Horn.
For the woofer I want to use any of the following Eminence 10" range:

Alpha 10
Beta 10
Gamma 10
Delta 10

Which of these sound the best and will this Motorola/Eminence combination work well together?

Thanx for all help.

(Mr. Moderator , please delete same posting in "Musical Instruments" forum. Little mishap )

I have an Eminence Beta 15 kicking around, which I foolishly tried to use in a sub. The driver gives an ultra lazy and undefined response. IME it sounds rubbish, and I would think it likely any other 'Beta' range drivers are poor too. The driver has low power handling for it's size and a pathetic magnet for what might be called a bass driver - presumably causing the uncontrolled bass response. I think these units are designed (as if they were designed!!!) for PA or something, but whatever they are for it isn't hi-fi!

Hope this helps narrow the choice down, at least by one or two...

Yes the Eminence Beta 15 is not very good bass driver.
And yes it's a pa driver,I had some in my disco speakers which recently blew up,so i'm now using Eminence Kappa pro 15 rated 500w rms,80 0z magnet.
And yes a 38 oz magnet on a 15 inch driver[beta 15] is small but not that small, but there is worse the Alpha 15 has a 25 oz magnet which is wimpy.

Eminence Beta 15 is better than the normal absolute crap pa bass driver you normally get in cheap disco cabinets, but the Beta 15 ain't briliant either.

To reply to Jdev. Go for the Delta 10 as it handles 350w rms,56 0z magnet,2.5 inch voice coil,60hz-6khz.
But all Eminence drivers are pa drivers except the LAB 12[a 400w rms 12 inch subwoofer],and all piezo horns are pa too and sound like crap.
So if your making a simple two box for disco/pa then using piezos is fine if you just want loud treble, otherwise get a compression horn and a 2 way crossover.
I'd never use piezos for hifi, cos they sound brittle, weak, hissy, shrill and lack any detail whatsoever.

Anyway the main query, what is your application for this 2 way with a 10 inch speaker? pa,disco, hifi, band, venue, background music?
