A recycling shop in Southmall Shopping Centre, aToMik Green is selling products made from recycled vinyl records. One of these, made from LPs, is a bowl shaped very much like a waveguide. If it was strengthened on the outside in some way and had the centre cut out it looks like it might be worth a try on a 3 - 4 inch cone speaker, like one of the small fostex or Tangband types.
Unfortunately I have lost my job and don't have a pension either so am not in a position to try it but for those who like experimenting with Ikea products etc it might be worth a go. I don't know if they are anywhere else in Melbourne or Australia. they may also be looking into that recycled jean product from The U.S. jamikl |
