I collected some vintage Philips fullrange and I would like to assembly them in a 2 way open baffle speaker.
I really love their sound and in a bigger OB project I preferred AD80800 as a midrange driver over Saba greencones...
I haven't measurement tools neither real skills on building speakers... so I'm copying some ideas from others projects found on the web. That's why I'm asking for some technical suggestions...

Drivers are AD70850 (the one with whizzer) and AD80800 (two for channel, for better bass; no whizzer)
AD70850: open baffle / AD80800: open box
Baffle: 28mm panel wood or MDF
Sizes: see pics
Biwiring

Basic crossover (copied from a similar project):
AD8750: 100 uF
AD80800: 4 mH / 10 uF second order

I wonder if
  1. I need a tweeter (I don't think so)
  2. adding another AD70850 may improve sound
  3. the basic crossover can work
  4. AD80800 have to be connected parallel or in series
  5. AD80800 have to be connected phase reversed against AD70850
PS: amp is a Tripath one.

I think that you don't need a tweeter with the AD70850, those ol' philips drivers sound great in the treble range.
What you can do is add a small tweeter on the back of the openbaffle e.g. on the magnet of the AD70850, connect it with a 1,5uf cap  Dayton ND16FA-6 5/8" Neodymium Dome Tweeter | Parts-Express.com
Connect the AD80800 parallel if they are 8ohm.
Phase reversed of against, not easy to answer, I would say try it out and listen.

I would change the value's of the xover.
AD70850: 47 uF
AD80800: 4,7 mH / 100 uF second order

A tweeter on the back will just project some more high frequency energy into your listening room. It's sort of enhancing the "indirect" sound, it makes the overall sound more transparent en spacious. Nice to try it out.

Which version of the AD80800 do you have? the P8 of the M8? Do you have a picture of this driver?

my mistake,

From what i can gather the no wizzer version was the 80800w4 there was also four wizzer versions the m4/8 p4/8 i could be wrong as I could not find much detail on them.

the w4 has a resonant freq of 52hz 25w power handling
the p4 has a resonant freq of 75hz 13w power handling
and m4 has a resonant freq of 85hz 10w power handling
