Default Why keeping baffle size is important ?

Why many designs call for not changing baffle size ?
How does the crossover takes the Baffle size into consideration ?

Is it OK to change baffle Height as long as I dont change internal volume ?

Baffle step?

It's ok, to change height, but it's not ok to change width and distance of the speakers to the upper edge.

Hi,

Good designs incorporate "baffle step compensation" and this compensation
is mainly related for typical speakers to baffle width (the smaller dimension).

Generally you can change baffle height but keep the width the same,
make speakers taller but less deep, or vice versa shorter and deeper.

Its also best to maintain geometry relative to the top edge.
