Default i have two ep2500 amps and need to get the most techno possible

i have two ep2500 amplifiers and the behringer digital loudspeaker manager xover unit and an art tube preamp hooked up to my power conditioner. I really cant go bigger on the rack because of certain limitations generator wise. i was wondering if anyone could give me advise on an epic midtop and epic sub to run off what i have. I know about the under powering myth and i stay out of the clip zone religiously.

order of priorities
1) efficiency of DB per watt of design
2) i prefer american made drivers
3) clean sound reproduction on techno music

If you want American made drivers then aespeaker.com is for you. John builds great drivers from subwoofer drivers (AV Series) to great mid range and woofer drivers (TD series).

#1 and #2 would be met with a AV15H for the subwoofer and the either a two way or 3-way with the TD series drivers.

The only thing missing would be a tweeter choice. Im not that familar with which tweeters are American made. If you went with the a compression driver and waveguide design matched with a TD12M then there are XOs in many threads on PE techtalk and HTguide.com

John @ AEspeakers.com builds amazing Pro audio designs for the same reasons you want!!

Sounds like good fun. It's mostly hi-fi bods on this site, but I'll post something to try to drum up some entusiasm!
Horns all round would be the classic solution, I suppose. If you want off-the-shelf designs you could try Bill Fitzmaurice's site - he seems to be quite well respected in this field.
Here's wishing you many happy parties with your rig!

You mentioned that you're using a generator. Are you playing outside?

If so, this will radically alter what kind of setup will work the best.

I would not alter my suggestion though

AE speakers are designed for outdoor use too.

Here is John Janowitz's Pro stuff outdoors.

Click the image to open in full size.

I think the horn is an 18sound horn but all those drivers are the TD series drivers. The same drivers I have in my high end 3 way designs in my HT room. They do outdoors and indoors very well, they do small or big venues.

Here is John's sound services side of the company

If the generator were mine I'd put a Geo Metro muffler on it and build a noise shroud for it. If you don't do something similar you may as well use amps with a 50dB S/N ratio (30?).

For good American made techno subs on a more Behringer budget I'd be looking at the Peavey Low Rider 18 or 15.
