Hello everybody,
I'm a newbie here and exited to build a pair of floor standing. I have 6.5" seas woofer and 5" peerless midrange. I want to build the cabinets for these drivers. Can anyone please advise me about building the speaker cabinet ? |

I'm not entirely sure what your asking, but here goes.......
Firstly, you will need a matching tweeter, (as the crossover should never be an afterthought). Do you have the T/S specifications of these drivers? Or model numbers? If you have the ability to do so, download winISD. This is a good program for newbies. The particular drivers you have, may already be in the archives, otherwise you will have to put them in. Simply put in such parameters as QTS, QMS, QTS, fs and whatever else info you can dig up on those drivers, then simply follow the prompts. Make sure you have exact model number, Near enough, isn't good enough. I use 25mm thick mdf as a cabinet material. Hope this helps, Mick.

Don't be afraid to use plywood if the budget allows. In the side by side tests I've been involved in it sounds better. Not that it should contribute to the sound at all but it seems to be less of a problem than MDF.
