hi i just join this forum few days ago,
i'm love to hear music, i used to play car audio, but since i sold the car away now i'm left with the drivers... i have a pair of Morel Renaissance drivers, n i love them so much, they sound so sweet, n i'm planning to make a cabinet to put it in my room, the problem is that i don't have any electro & wood background, so i don't know what will be the right measurement for the cabinet & the XO, but i do have friends that can make the XO & cabinet if i have the measurement, so i'm hoping that i can get some info... Many Thx Before... btw here's the spec for my drivers... Renaissance Audio Group Renaissance Audio Group sorry for my bad english..... |

You could do a search for the Morel MW166 or MW168, see how the specs compare, and see if someone built a cabinet for them. The tweeter I believe has a typo in that the Resonant freq is probably 900 Hz, not 9000 Hz.
That also said- you may have to build a new xover for the drivers. Since these will be in a different 'boundaried' setup than your former car, the xover probably needs altered. Later, Wolf

I reckon you’d find using software to help with your design, they’re invaluable to design a cabinet. Just tap in the Thiele Small parameters and you will find the ideal dimensions. There are plenty available free on the web.

Hi, The QES is probably around 0.85 (based on the value for qts and qms) so I put that into unibox and it looks like a sealed box of about 27L with heavy fill should work well.
Not really suitable for vented due to the high qts.. graph attached. Tony. |
