Default Altec Lansing 604-8L?

Does anyone know much about these successors to the Altec 604 duplex? I was aware of rumours about the possible 604 reintroduction by some of the people originally involved in its design, but I did not know that a 604-8L currently existed and made by Altec Lansing.

Well I just got a quote back from a re-seller for these speakers and I was disappointed by how expensive they were. They list for $1,250 each (including crossover), but they would sell them to me at a discount price of $1,000 each

That explains why the older versions hold their value so well.

Hi Jeff, thanks for finding out the cost. Too bad they are so overpriced, still curious as to their sound quality... probably never know

Regards,

Anybody who has experiences with these speakers ? How do they compare to old 604s that could be bought at ebay?
