I'm trying to decide if I should trim back the felt. From the front plane of the speaker there is 3" to the side of the felt, 3.5" to the inductor. The driver for reference is about 2.5" in the same dimension. For reference, it's about 3" between the two felt sides and the magnet on the driver is about 3.25" diameter. Seems like there is enough clearance?

In your picture it looks a bit close.
I would trim back an itch, or perhaps take off the inner edge of the felt for a more "aerodynamic" profile . |
